Director of Development, Loyola Catholic School (Posted 7/12/2018 – Closing until filled)

General Summary:
An energetic and positive leader, rooted in Gospel values, who increases the number of donors and their gifting levels toward Loyola School development funds and Schola Foundation funds. A candidate must be driven to fulfill the mission of Loyola Catholic School which is Leading through Faith, Academic Excellence, and Service. This position plans, directs and coordinates all school and foundation-based development activities and major fundraising efforts. The Director manages a team of two and a strong group of volunteers to ensure success in all Development Program initiatives and reports directly to the Principal/School Leader.

Accountability: Reports to the Principal/School Leader
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
In coordination with the Principal/School Leader, create and manage Development Office’s strategic plan. This plan encompass all fundraising and constituent relation initiatives.
Manage multi-year fundraising goals to meet operating budget and balance sheet requirements in collaboration and coordination with the Board of Trustees, the Board’s Finance Committee, the Principal/School Leader and the Schola Foundation..
Direct the telemarketing, direct mail, and email/online development initiatives.
Direct key volunteers and personally solicit gifts for the Annual Fund’s “Lead Donor” program.
Manage the stewardship process for benefactors of the school and Schola.
Direct the development and effectiveness of the fundraising databases and records management process.
Initiate and direct stewarding and training of volunteer leadership in support of development initiatives, including such areas as the Loyola Board of Trustees, the Loyola Advancement Committee, Schola Board of Trustees, campaign solicitors, “Lead Loyola AF Donor” solicitors, sponsorship solicitors, key event committees, reunion committees and Alumni Association leadership.
Identify annual sources of new funding such as grants, small/large business sponsorships, donors and gifts.
Provide reports to the School Leader, Board of Trustees, Schola Board, Finance Committee, and the Advancement Committee regarding the progress and achievement towards financial goals
Other duties as required and/or assigned by board.

Functional/Technical
Proficient in or ability to learn required technology including but not limited to Google Suites, Raiser’s Edge, EdEdge and Web, or similar programs.
Generates queries, reports, exports and any other collection data as needed. Management of people, processes, and systems/program.
Proficient in planning, organizing, and executing fundraising initiatives.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Budget management of both expenses and revenues.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree.
5 years fundraising experience.
Demonstrated success and evidence of ability to plan and execute a fund drive.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Demonstrated ability to provide extreme attention to detail and balance multiple tasks and competing needs. Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
One or more years supervision experience of professional level staff, support staff and volunteers.
Demonstrated success in activities to coordinate, attract and close major gift funding support.
Demonstrated knowledge of alumni, parent, student and foundation relations.
Demonstrated knowledge of planned giving.
Commitment to professional development through continuous learning.

Working Conditions
High volume of office work; must have the physical ability to perform daily activities from a desk and to operate a computer and other office equipment
This position’s work is cyclical with significantly greater workload at certain times
Ability to travel extensively within the state and occasionally regionally/nationally.

Position starts first day for school and ends last day of school, Monday – Friday.
