Mrs. Karst's Wiki

I have been a part of the Loyola family since 2008 when my son began attending school here. I am very excited to be teaching 7-12 social studies. Since graduating from college, I have held different roles within education. I have worked for a grant program both in southern Minnesota and southern Arizona promoting the completion of high school and post-secondary education. I have also held the position of preschool teacher at a local child care center as well as a program manager for a tuition assistance program. I strive to make my classroom inviting, thought provoking and focused on active learning. I believe that a student-centered classroom is vibrant, meaningful and enhanced with the use of modern technology. When I am not focusing on school I can be found spending time with my family. I have three busy children, which does not always leave a lot of spare time, however when I do find a moment or two I enjoy being outdoors, reading and cooking.
